Job description:
A truck dispatcher is a professional responsible for coordinating trucks' movement and cargo. The primary job duties of a truck dispatcher include the following:
Coordinating truck routes: You will be responsible for creating and planning the most efficient routes for trucks to get to their destination quickly and safely. This involves considering traffic conditions, road closures, and other factors affecting the route.
Communicating with drivers: Dispatchers are truck drivers' primary point of contact. You will inform drivers about their routes, including directions, traffic conditions, and other relevant details.
Coordinating with customers: As a dispatcher, you will also communicate with customers receiving shipments by providing information about the estimated delivery time, any delays, and other relevant details.
Maintaining records: You will keep detailed records of all shipments, including the route taken, the time of departure and arrival, and any issues that occurred during the journey.
Requirements:
Knowledge of the English language at an advanced level
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to stay calm under pressure
Responsibilities:
Coordinating with drivers to determine the best transportation routes
Communicating with customers (brokers) to provide them with information about delivery and delays
Resolving transportation issues (such as delays or accidents)
Keeping records and reports relating to transport
Nice to have:
Experience working with English-speaking drivers
Knowledge of DOT regulations and legislation relating to road transportation in the United States is a plus
