Safety Manager

Job description:

A truck safety manager is responsible for ensuring that a trucking company operates safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations in the USA. The primary job duties of a truck safety manager may include the following:

  • Developing safety policies: Truck safety managers establish safety policies and procedures for the company, including driver training programs, safety inspection protocols, and accident response plans.

  • Ensuring regulatory compliance: Truck safety managers are responsible for confirming that the company complies with all relevant safety regulations, including those issued by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

  • Conducting safety audits: Truck safety managers conduct regular safety audits to identify potential safety hazards and areas for improvement. They may review driver records, vehicle inspection reports, and other safety-related data to assess the company's compliance with safety regulations.

  • Training drivers and staff: Truck safety managers develop and deliver training programs for drivers and other staff members. These training programs cover safe driving practices, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response procedures.

  • Investigating accidents: When accidents occur, truck safety managers are responsible for conducting investigations to determine the cause of the accident and to develop strategies to prevent similar accidents in the future.

  • Maintaining records: Truck safety managers keep detailed records of safety-related data, including accident reports, safety audits, and training records. They use this data to identify trends and develop strategies for improving safety.

Requirements:
